美国国务卿迈克·蓬佩奥（Mike Pompeo）敦促联合国安理会（United Nations Security Council）采取行动制止伊朗肆无忌惮的弹道导弹活动。他指出，这些活动对中东（Middle East）和欧洲各地的人民构成了威胁。

12月12日，他呼吁安理会制止伊朗试射可携带核武器的弹道导弹。

国务卿蓬佩奥强调，“伊朗利用各国的善意，蔑视安理会各项决议，试图发展强大的弹道导弹力量。对此，美国绝不会听之任之。”

他表示，美国已获得确凿的证据，说明伊朗已向也门的胡塞（Houthi）反叛力量出口导弹系统，还向伊拉克什叶派（Shi）武装转移弹道导弹系统。

国务卿蓬佩奥在会后告诉新闻记者，“伊朗已大肆进行试射，大肆进行扩散，必须加以制止。”

美国于2015年退出伊朗核协议，并针对伊朗在中东等地的恶劣行径重新实施经济制裁。

安理会从2010至2015年严厉禁止伊朗发展具有核能力的导弹，但在核协议达成后软化了禁令的立场，并通过决议“呼吁”德黑兰不再试射可携带核武器的任何弹道导弹。

国务卿蓬佩奥指出，“现在安理会应该严肃对待伊朗政权扩散活动构成的现实危险。”

Pompeo urges U.N. action on Iran’s ballistic missiles

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urged the United Nations Security Council to take action against Iran for reckless ballistic missile activities that he says threaten people across the Middle East and Europe.

He called upon the Security Council on December 12 to stop Iran from testing ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear weapons.

“Iran has exploited the goodwill of nations and defied multiple Security Council resolutions in its quest for a robust ballistic missile force. The United States will never stand for this,” the secretary of state said.

He said the United States has hard evidence that Iran has exported missile systems to the Houthi rebels in Yemen and is also transferring ballistic missile systems to Shia militias in Iraq.

Afterwards, Pompeo told reporters, “Iran has been on a testing spree and a proliferation spree, and this must come to an end.”

The United States pulled out of the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal and reimposed economic sanctions over what it called Iran’s malign behavior in the Middle East and beyond.

The Security Council strictly banned nuclear-capable Iranian missiles from 2010 to 2015, but after the deal it softened the ban with a resolution that “calls upon” Tehran not to test any ballistic missiles that could carry nuclear warheads.

“It’s time for this Security Council to get serious about this real risk from proliferation from the Iranian regime,” Pompeo said.
