本期的主角是

听力的highlight correct summary!

作为一道听力和阅读互相考察的题型，highlight correct summary在听力部分占有很重要的分数!

听力部分由于题目紧凑，做题时间较少让大部分同学感到对这类题型无从下手!

那么如何在有限的时间迅速定位到关键答案呢？

首先，对于这类题型先要提示大家不要与单选题进行混淆，单选题因为有明确的question所以在听听力时可以有着重点和忽略的地方，而highlight correct summary需要大家掌握整个听力材料的内容，因此从听力的一开始一直到结束都是不能只挑重点的，而是需要对整体信息进行泛听。其次在听力开始播放前的10秒时间注意每个选项的开头与结尾部分，特别是实意的意群，明确每个选项的侧重点，但是切忌不要精读选项。选项中通常会藏有明显暗示，例如topic sentence和key words，还有是否generalized ideas以及前后文的逻辑关系是否能和听力材料一一对应：

下面是一道PTE offline practice test的例题，来为大家做详细分析做题思路

1.    Unless major oil consumers invest in exploration now (which would be the first time major funds have been invested since 1964) global oil production will level out and be unable to meet increased demands from India and China.

2.    With the continuation of improvements in technology, geology, and with government support, there is little doubt that further major reserves of oil will be found in the near future. This should result in sustainable oil supplies for a further 150 years.

3.    While we are not about to run out of oil, we are certainly past the peak of oil production, which occurred about 40 years ago. This is despite improvements in technology, geology, and with tax-subsidized investment in exploration.

4.    Oil consumption reached its first peak in 1964. Since that time the world has become increasingly dependent on oil. It is unlikely that there will be any new major oil discoveries in the immediate future or at any subsequent time.

正确答案是第三个，下面是对听力材料的详细解析：

 We’re not running out of oil. The first thing that one can say with absolute confidence is that we’re not about to run out of oil, we are definitely not. （在听力材料中一开头的第一句话就有对not running oil的概念speaker重复提到过两次，并且顺序结构与第三句相符。）

 So, in other words, we’ve passed the peak.（后半段中的technological and geological advances进行了着重解释。注意Examples & details和主句的区分，关键信息点转折谨防掉进错误选项陷阱。）

通过transcription我们不难看出highlight correct summary中对于repeated words和transitional words的重视程度，speaker通过反复重复其中的某些信息来强调该信息在文章中的重要性，所以当我们听到录音中任何的信息重复出现时，都应抱有警惕性去做笔记，还有就是对细节部分的处理，尤其是时间地点这样非常specific的details，可以帮忙二次印证summary的准确性。另外对于转折连接词部分，牢记重要信息通常都在转折连接词之后出现的规律，将更多注意力转向speakers着重在转折连接词之后提到的内容。

另外在generalized ideas上面，注意summary中正确的逻辑关系十分重要，听力材料中通常会有明显的对比或比较，递进，转折，分论点等等逻辑关系，注意听力材料中的introduction和conclusion是否首尾呼应或者前后转折等方面，还要把握课堂上教给大家针对Highlight correct summary的essential tips，这道题的正确率就会有很高的保障啦。
